We have all heard this scripture many times, but do we really believe it.
“Without faith it’s impossible to please God” Hebrews 11:6
Do you believe that it’s impossible to please God without faith?
One day in high school I was witnessing to a friend of mine and I quoted this scripture. My friend responded to me with a question; ‘Why is it necessary to please God?’
She stumped me.
I didn’t know how to respond to her question.
The simple truth is that God wants to be pleased by you. It brings him joy when he sees faith. God will love you know matter what you do but you can only please him with faith.
The reverse is also true, many well meaning Christians love God, but they are not pleasing to God.
What about the kids in your class?
Are your kids pleasing God?
Many kids try to please God just like they please their parents by obeying the rules, but the scripture doesn’t say that we please God by obeying the rules.
The majority of Sunday School curriculums focus on morality but the scripture didn’t say that right behavior pleases God. In fact, it says the opposite, that our righteousness is as filthy rags.
Faith is what please God.
What is faith?
Faith is the confidence that what we ask of God will actually happen.
Faith is believing in things we don’t see.
Faith is trusting God that He has a plan for our lives.
How do we get faith?
‘Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God’
For years I traveled across the country as a Kid’s Evangelist teaching kids about faith. In the summer time my wife and kids traveled with me. One day as we were driving down the road my six-year son, Marky looked at me and said “Daddy, lets build up our faith”.
Wow! My six-year son got it. He understood that faith is something that you need to build.
In other words, your faith doesn’t just grow automatically. You need to have a plan to grow your faith.
Marky and I spent the next ten minutes quoting scriptures and building up our faith. It’s something I still do every day.
Are you teaching your kids about Faith? If not there is a good chance that their faith is weak.
Faith isn’t the only thing we should teach on, but it is something that we should teach on a regular basis.
That’s why I wrote an entire curriculum on the subject of faith.
I want the kids in my class to grow strong in their faith.
I want God to be pleased with the kids in my class.
