After Jesus went back to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to help us. The Holy Spirit comes inside of us to lead us and to empower us.

In the book of Acts, the disciples did not do any ministry until the Holy Spirit came upon them. We should follow this example. Sometimes we might be afraid to talk to somebody about Jesus, but the Holy Spirit will take the chicken out of us.

Peter was a big chicken at first. He denied Christ three times, but on the day of Pentecost (after receiving the Holy Spirit), Peter stood up and preached boldly to thousands of people. What changed Peter? The Holy Spirit did. He took the chicken out of Peter. The Holy Spirit gave Peter a boldness to be a witness for Jesus. He wasn’t afraid anymore.

Kids can receive the same Holy Spirit that Peter and John did. When they get filled with the Holy Spirit, they don’t receive a “Junior Holy Spirit.”
