1) Desire
Ask yourself “What do I want?” Psalm 37:4 says that God will give you the desires of your heart. The desires of your heart are put there by God.
“The indispensible first step to getting what you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.”
– Ben Stein
2) Write it Down
“Write the vision and make it plain so he may run that reads it.”
– Habakkuk 2:22
There is something about writing down your dreams that makes them believable. One thing I know is this, if you can’t make the effort to write down your dreams, they will not happen.
3) Make a “Not To Do” List
I’m really good at creating “to do” lists, but not as good at making “not to do” lists. Take a look at how you are spending your time. If you are doing something that does not move you closer to your dream then stop it. Unpack your bags of things that don’t belong to you anymore. Repack and travel light.
4) Take Your Dream For Test Drive
Ask yourself: What can I do today to move me closer to me dream? Do at least one thing every day that moves you toward your dream.
5) Ask People To Help You
Any dream worth doing is a team effort. Don’t run your race by yourself. If Jesus needed people to help him you will need people to help you.
It’s one way to test your dream. It helps you to clarify your dream so that you can communicate it to others. If you can’t get anyone to follow you then you might be living in fantasyland. Reality is the enemy of fantasies, but not of dreams.
What are you waiting for? Start writing down your dreams today.
