What do you think is the number one area where Kid’s Church gets in a rut?
Some people might think it is offering, games, the message or the service structure.
These are all potential areas for children’s ministries to fall into a rut, but the most prevalent is…
Worship
You heard me right, worship!
It is easy to play the same rotation of 8 to 10 worship songs.
I am just as guilty as the next childrens’ pastor of doing this.
So… Why is it important to keep the rotation worship songs fresh in your KidMin?
The main reason is your kids will start checking out during worship!
I know, I know, you are saying to yourself these are powerful songs, God moves in our services Lance!
Think about it for a minute….
How many of you have heard the same songs in the main service and were just singing along while thinking about your to do list?
Is that worship?
No, that is just singing.
More importantly, we would be naive to think this same thing cannot happen to our kids.
So to help you bust out of the rut, I have put together a few of my favorite places to gather fresh worship videos for my KidMin.
Seeds (Church On The Move)
The great thing about Seeds from Church On The Move is all of their resources are completely FREE. It isn’t low grade, why did I download this kind of resources either, it is high quality and your kids will LOVE it.

JumpStart 3
Jeff McCullough is the founder of JumpStart 3 and they have an amazing concept, awesome music that helps kids memorize scriptures. I think his worship videos are an amazing twist to the typical worship experience our kids have in our weekend/mid-week services. JumpStart 3 also has a plethora of other resources from CDs, RingTones, and Outreach supplies.

Yancy has been producing amazing worship songs for kids for a long time! She has worship videos that are upbeat as well as those that are worshipful. If you haven’t experienced any of her worship songs you should definitely check her out and add some of her music to your library.
I hope you find these resources helpful and they catapult you to new highs in worship with your kids.

Kids on the Move is another great one. I was actually thinking about this yesterday, and I brought back an old song I used to sing in Children’s Church called, “Only a Boy Named David.” The kids absolutely loved it, they helped to come up with motions, and we sang it about 8 times. Bringing back some of the older songs, much to my surprise the kids really enjoyed them, and it even brought back memories for some of the adults.
Gretchen,
Kids On The Move is within the Seeds resources (great stuff) and I totally agree with you on bringing back older songs. We cannot discount older songs for the new songs there is a balance that can be acheived.
